Readings on Inner Peace

I am one with God’s holy presence of peace.  All is in divine order.
In even the darkest moment of a challenge, I have the assurance of my oneness with God. I know that any challenge is a temporary circumstance and that God’s presence within me and surrounding me is eternal.

In prayer, I consciously connect with the presence of peace within me. I close my eyes, relax my body, and still my thoughts. This is in preparation for entering the sanctuary of my soul. In the quiet of this holy place, I affirm God’s presence and peace. Instantly I know the serenity of being in accord with the promise, “I am with you always.

As my recognition of God increases, my sense of peace grows and deepens. I know, in the innermost recesses of my being, that I am at peace. The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

The peace of God is within me and within every situation, and I am serene. In the midst of a difficult challenge, I can momentarily draw my attention [away from situation],  I am serene in every moment away from the outside world and turn within. Here I find that the peace of God is waiting for me even in the midst of chaos.  As I bring this peace from within to my outer experiences, I feel as if I were drawing a cool a drink from a deep well to be shared with all.

I stay in touch with the peace of God within and find that I accomplish what is needed without feeling stressed.  As I practice bringing the peace of God into every situation, I am productive in going about doing my daily tasks and I am helpful in an emergency, knowing that God’s peace is present.

Now may the lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in all ways.  2 Thessalonians 3:16

We have sought him, and he has given us peace on every side.–2 Chronicles 14:7

One with God’s presence, I live from the peace of God within me.

The peace of God is radiating within my soul.

Incline your ear and hear my words, and apply your mind to my teaching; for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you.  Proverbs 22:17-18

God gives me peace of mind and comforts my heart. In the midst of my own stormy thoughts or emotions I too may feel despair. Yet I too can find a place of peace by repeating Jesus’ powerful words; “Peace, be still.”

He woke up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace Be Still!’ then the wind ceased and there was a dead clam.

The peace of God which passes all human understanding calms all fear.
As divine peace washes over me my mind and heart are soothed. I know without a doubt that wherever I am, God is watching over me and restoring my inner peace.

And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds.  Philippines 4:7

The presence of God is my constant source of peace.  During a crisis I wonder if I will ever again be free of worry and stress. Then as I become quiet and allow my total focus to be on the presence of God, I experience the peace of God and the immediate relief that my awareness of this peace brings to me…..peace is my constant  reality because God within me is my constant source of peace.

I go within to the sanctuary of my soul. Wrapped in the very presence of peace I realize that I am not alone. God is the source of peace that calms me no matter what I am going through.

For God alone my soul waits in silence …from Him comes my salvation. Psalm 62:1

I am calm and serene as I rest in the ever-present love of God.

My day may be filled with all manner of distractions that seem to shout for my attention. In the rush, I may spend time I fully intended for prayer dealing with matters at hand. Yet, it is precisely during these frantic periods of the day when I truly need to go within and draw on the peace of God that is always there.

Before I begin to embrace the challenges of a new day, I take a moment to open my heart and mind to God. I linger for a few moments in silent, inward reflection and prayer. Quietly, the cares and concerns of the workaday world melt into a sea of calm, spirit-filled assurance.

With a renewed perspective and with peace and joy in my heart, I am ready for anything this God-given day may bring. In all things and in all circumstances, I eagerly anticipate God’s good.

To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6

Moment by moment, I center myself in the presence of infinite peace. There is a limitless reservoir of peace within my soul. This peace reflects the infinite serenity of God’s presence that supports me at all times–even during those times and incidents where there appears to be discord.

Yet there may be times when an outer circumstance or inner worry seems to prevent me from feeling peaceful. Then I affirm from the foundation of my being: I am serene, calm, and peaceful.

In affirming this truth about me, I silence any voice of doubt that may arise from within me or from another person. Centered in the presence of God, I see beyond the immediate situation to the infinite serenity of God’s peace. At peace with myself and my world, I am serene and calm.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces peace.   –Isaiah 52:7

Centered in God, I experience peace and the assurance of divine love. I take a moment several times a day to acknowledge my own personal, inner peace, for God within is my peace at all times.

I begin by sitting quietly and letting my body relax. I then take a deep breath, release it, and turn my awareness within to acknowledge the blessed presence of peace. In this quiet, sacred moment, I feel loved, assured, and strengthened.

I bring this awareness back to my day. This is a peace that reminds me of God’s loving presence in all that I am and all that I do. I know that, wherever I am, God loves me and that the peace of God sustains me.

I am secure, centered, and blessed. I am a beloved creation of God who is at peace wherever I am.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.–John 14:27

Secure in God’s love, I am calm and at peace.
At times I may wonder where in the world I can go to find peace. I needn’t take one step away from the spot where I am at that or any other moment. Answering an invitation from within me, I rest in the presence of absolute peace.

All tension melts away as the warm glow of peace moves through the muscles of my body. I feel, more than hear, the invitation: “Be still, and know that I am God!”  Remaining still, I know I am in the presence of God and God’s presence is within me.

I experience the exaltation that comes with knowing that God loves me and is the source of peace that calms me. With this assurance, I let my thoughts and expressions originate from my peace-filled soul.

Secure in God’s love, I no longer yearn for peace. I accept the peace that is always mine to enjoy.

Be still, and know that I am God!–Psalm 46:10
